Call to develop Tuticorin airport

Madurai, Nov. 29

The State Government needs to provide necessary infrastructure for the development of Tuticorin Airport at Vagaikulam, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Tuticorin, has said. The chamber Secretary, Mr D.R. Kodeeswaran, in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary, said the process of acquiring land for extension of runway to facilitate landing of bigger aircraft should be expedited. Only ATR model aircraft is operated currently. There is also a need for proper signboards en route to the airport to guide the passengers, he added.- Our Corresponden
