L&T opens valve facility in China

Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro inaugurated its industrial valve manufacturing facility in Yancheng, located in the Jiangsu Province of China.
The new facility, with a
built-up area of 30,000 square
metres, will make gate, globe,
check and ball valves.
At the inauguration, Mr
A.M. Naik, Chairman & Managing
Director of L&T, said
the facility would expand the
company's manufacturing
presence in the world's fastest
growing economy, adding
valves to a range that comprises
high-tech switchgear and
the rubber processing
machinery.
The valves manufactured in
China would complement
L&T's existing range of industrial
valves and help it address
the needs of its rapidly growing
client base of global oil
majors, he said.
Mr R.N. Mukhija, President, Electrical & Electronics Division, L&T; Mr A.K. Banerjee, Vice-President, Valves Business Group, L&T; and Mr Zhao Peng, Secretary of Yancheng Municipal Committee of CPC, along with Mr Li Qiang Mayor of Yancheng were present on the occasion.
Larsen & Toubro (Wuxi) Electric Co. Ltd. celebrated its first anniversary of operations of its Wuxi plant on November 19.
L&T RMC
During his visit to China, Mr Naik also visited Larsen & Toubro (Qingdao) Rubber Machinery Co. Ltd. L&T RMC is one of the three manufacturing plants of Larsen & Toubro Ltd, India, in China with an initial investment of $6 million.
Situated in Jiaonan in Shandong province, where 70 per cent of the tyre companies are located, L&T RMC will offer the rubber machineries to domestic and international tyre companies, an L&T release said.
