Veta aims for global footprint, plans to enter Singapore, Malaysia

Madurai, Dec. 4 Veta, a leading Chennai-based spoken English training academy with ISO Certification, plans to have a global footprint by 2008. It has planned to start a Centre in Singapore in January and another one in Malaysia by the end of the first quarter in 2008, its Chairman, Mr V.Rajagopalan said here on Monday.
There is a great demand among Chinese to learn English and the academy is preparing to seize the opportunity. Through its 175 centres in over 100 cities across the country, the academy has trained till date 2.1 million students. A Visa-Veta card has been introduced to enable students to pursue the course from another centre should they get transferred. In the centres in the metros, campus interviews have been facilitated in the last four months and over 600 have got placements across IT, ITeS, BPOs,telecom, retail industries etc, he said at a press meet. .
The two centres in the city have witnessed steady increase in enquiries and enrolment. More than 2,000 students have been trained. There are 39 centres throughout Tamil Nadu and two more are under the process. The plan is to have around 50 centres in the State, added Mr V. Gopalakrishnan, General Manager, Franchise, Veta.
