Madurai, Dec 4 Tuticorin-based Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd (SIIL) has been selected as winner of the Golden Peacock National Training Award-2007.

SIIL was adjudged the winner by a jury under the Chairmanship of Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Chairman, Golden Peacock Awards.

The award will be presented at a special ‘Gala Award Nite’ on January 12 in New Delhi.

Golden Peacock awards are instituted by the Institute of Directors in order to help organisations benchmark against the best and set new standards of training excellence.

As many as 186 companies contended for this award.

The award presentation ceremony will be a part of 18th World Congress on Total Quality, according to a company press release here. —Our Correspondent
