Trust donates Rs 50 lakh to AMA

Our Bureau

Ahmedabad, Dec 5 The Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) has received Rs.50 lakh from a religious trust that runs a century-old homeopathic clinic, known for treating more than three million patients for a nominal fee of one rupee per day, seeking to enter the Guiness Book of World Records.

The outgoing AMA President and industrialist, Mr Rajiv Vastupal, who is Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Sheth Jamnabhai Bhagubhai Religious Trust, told reporters today that the money will be utilised in building a state-of-the-art auditorium, the largest in Gujarat, on the AMA premises.

AMA’s new president, Mr Janak Parikh, said the Association, in its 50th anniversary year this year, is set to launch an AICTE-approved two-year post-graduate programme in international business. It is also exploring possibilities of a tie-up with a Graduate School of International Business and an Institute of International Studies in the US to offer joint courses. It is also expanding its facilities to satellite centres in Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat.

In addition, the AMA, which has been adjudged as the best management association in India more than a dozen times, would soon launch a Project Ignite for municipal school students in Ahmedabad to discover talents from the poor families and a cell to create awareness about cyber crimes.
