Our Bureau Tiruchi, Dec 5 The high rate of economic growth, favourable demographic profile and the market potential are the factors that have enabled the country to emerge as the hotspot for investors across the globe, Ms S. Gayathri, Manager (Finance), Brakes India Ltd, said delivering a lecture on the concepts of financial management with particular reference to evaluation of investment decisions at a meeting organised by the Saranathan College BL Club, recently. The market potential in India, the second largest growing economy next only to that of China, has attracted the focus of the world, she said. Presenting an overview of the capital market and the investment climate in India, she lauded the role played by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in transforming the Indian stock markets to global standards by introducing measures such as electronic trading, grading of public offerings and investor protection. In an interaction session that followed Ms Gayathri explained to students the methods of meeting industry expectations.
