2nd cardamom e-auction centre set to function from Dec 8

Kochi, Dec 5 The second e-auction centre for cardamom will be launched at Vandanmettu in Kerala’s Idukki district on December 8.

The Union Minister of State for Commerce, Mr Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the auction centre set up by the Spices Board at a total cost of Rs 55 lakhs.

The Centre will have 60 terminals for operation and it is provided with advanced server connection and network facilities with necessary power back up, an official release here said.

The first e-auction for the commodity with 30 terminals was set up in Bodinayakannur on August 23 with an initial investment of Rs 22 lakh. The Board would be expanding this centre to facilitate smooth e-auction there, it added.
