Big names line up for UP expressway project

New Delhi, Dec 6 Several big companies that include DLF, GMR, Reliance Energy, JP Group, GVK Constructions, Nagarjuna Construction and Omaxe have lined up for the Rs 30,000-crore project of the UP Government to build 8-lane road between Greater Noida and Ballia, it is learnt.

The project will be executed by a special purpose vehicle on design, build, finance and operate model. The project bid was invited by the Uttar Pradesh Government to develop 1,047 km long 8-lane access controlled expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 30,000 crore.

In a press release issued by real estate firm Omaxe, the company said that Omaxe will bid in consortium with GVK constructions and Nagarjuna Construction Company.

The construction of the project has been divided into four phases.
