Outlook Volkswagen to announce India plans at auto expo Our Bureau New Delhi, Dec. 7 European car maker Volkswagen said that it would make its maiden entry during the auto expo by showcasing its premium sedan Passat and its sports utility vehicle Touareg. Showcase new modelsThe company also plans to showcase its concept car UP! and its compact car Jetta. Currently, the Passat is seen on the Indian roads since its launch in September. The company said that the upcoming expo will also be a platform for the company to announce the models slated to be launched in the coming few months. Expansion plansThe Volkswagen Group had, earlier this year, set up its new subsidiary Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Ltd to run its operations in India. The company that had initially established its dealer network in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore plans to expand it gradually to other Indian cities with a target to set up 10 dealerships by the end of 2008, said a company statement.
