Satyam expanding operations

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, Dec. 10

IT services provider Satyam Computer, which currently hosts about 250 engineers to serve the Japanese market, is poised to expand its presence there, inducting more engineers and also stepping up training work.

The Head of North Asia for Satyam, Mr Harsh Vardhan, told Business Line that most of the technology companies have managed to achieve revenues of about 2 per cent in Japan with only IBM accounting for about 10 per cent. But these numbers are poised for growth as more Japanese enterprises are gearing up to outsourcing. This is not just to bring about savings in overall technology costs but also to harness the skills of large HR pool based in countries like India. The growth of most overseas technology companies in Japan is fairly low compared to other markets, he said.
