Our Bureau

Mumbai, Dec. 11 The Indian markets were among the best performing in Asia today, with both the Sensex and Nifty posting all-time highs. The BSE Sensex was up 360.21 points to touch 20333.06 before ending the day at 20290.89.

The Nifty too was up 2.29 per cent to end at 6097.25. The rally was broad-based with over two-thirds of the stocks posting gains.

“There was a build-up during the day based on the expectations of the Fed rate announcements; this sort of a rally was expected as the last Fed rate announcement too witnessed a similar trend ”, said the Head of Research with a stock broking firm.

BSE-Consumer Durables and the IT indices were the only ones to end the day in the red.
