Tata AutoComp hiking production
New Delhi, Dec. 12
Tata Green Batteries, a product of Tata AutoComp GY
Batteries (TGY), said that it would scale up its
production to one million automotive batteries by FY
2008-09 and would further expand it to 2 million by
2010-11. Tata AutoComp GY Batteries (TGY) is a joint
venture between Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd and GS
Yuasa, Japan. Tata Green Batteries within less than a year
of its launch is being retailed through 3,000 outlets across
the country, said a company statement. "The Calcium-
Calcium technology based Tata Green Batteries replaces
traditionally used hazardous chemical elements by
harmless calcium alloy. This ensures that the batteries
are high on performance as well as environmentally
clean," said Mr Rajeev Malik, Head, Marketing, Tata
