Coconut awareness rally

Increasing the use of coconut and thereby strengthening the economy of the State is the responsibility of each and everyone in society, the State Agriculture Minister, Mr Mullakkara Ratnakaran, has said. He was delivering the keynote address at the coconut awareness rally organised by the Coconut Development Board. It is the responsibility of the government to take care of coconut, he added. Earlier, Dr Sebastian Pual, MP, who flagged off the rally, said that the rally wou ld help wipe out the existing propaganda against coconut oil. Prof K.V.Thomas, MLA, said that there should be more focus on value addition and new marketing strategies should be developed. Ms Minnie Mathew, Chairman, Coconut Development Board, delivered the welcome address.
