Kottayam, Dec. 13 Mr Jayaram Ramesh, Union Minister of State for Commerce, will inaugurate the Golden Jubilee of the Rubber Board’s extension services on December 17 at Kottayam.

The Suvarnasanghom Award for the best RPS will be presented to Elavampadom Rubber Producers Society at the inaugural ceremony. Technology empowerment, coupled with modern management practices under the guidance of the Rubber Board, has enabled the Elavampadom Society achieve such a recognition.

The award carries a memento, citation and a purse of Rs 2 lakh. As part of the golden jubilee, five zonal meetings will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Agartala and Guwahati. The celebrations would conclude with a two-day international seminar at Kochi in May next, Mr Sajen Peter Chairman, Rubber Board, told Business Line.
