New Delhi, Dec. 14 Hindustan Zinc Ltd, a group company of Vedanta Resources, announced the commissioning of its second hydro phase zinc smelter plant at Chanderiya, Rajasthan. To support the increased production capacity, Hindustan Zinc’s Rampura Agucha mine is also currently under expansion from 3.75 mtpa to 5.0 mtpa which would take the company’s total ore production capacity to 7.10 mtpa.

With the commissioning of the plant, the company would also be ranked the world’s second integrated zinc producer in the world.
