Autoindia plans online promotion campaign

Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 14 Automobile portal Autoindia.com is planning a series of online promotions to create more awareness about the services it offers.

The details of the campaign are being worked out, said Mr V. Chandramouli, CEO, Autoindia.com Online Pvt Ltd. The campaign is scheduled to break by January. For now, the company will focus on Net-based promotional efforts and will not immediately be looking at print and television advertising, he added.

At the same time, the company is also working with automobile dealers across India to promote usage of the Internet as a medium for vehicle sales, he said.

It has developed a free software tool that helps automobile dealers create a database of their vehicle inventory. This database can be prepared offline and uploaded to the portal at the dealer’s convenience.

Mr Chandramouli claimed that the tool is easy to use, helps automobile dealers cope with poor Internet connectivity and allows them to maintain up-to-date listings on the portal.

Launched in 2005, the privately-owned Autoindia.com is positioned as a single point resource for automobile buyers, with information on four-wheelers, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles.
