‘Focus on high performance entrepreneurship’

Our Bureau

Manipal, Dec. 14 The international research meet on ‘Entrepreneurship in India and China’ at Manipal in Udupi district began with a call to focus on the need for ‘high performance entrepreneurship’ for the growth of the country.

Inaugurating the international research meet – organised by the T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal – on Friday, Mr Subroto Bagchi, Chief Operating Officer of MindTree Consulting Ltd, said that significant job creation happens from high performance entrepreneurship.

India, which has good number of entrepreneurs, lacks high performance entrepreneurship.

It is the high performance entrepreneurship that creates a majority of jobs in the US, and not the Fortune 500 companies, he said.

Apart from creating large-scale employment, high performance entrepreneurship helps in shared wealth creation.

Stating that Indian sub-continent consists of nearly 450 million children below the age of 15 years, he said it is not the work of Governments’ to provide jobs to them.

High performance entrepreneurship can play a major role in this regard.
