Retailing States - Maharashtra HomeTown’ s 5th store opened in Pune Our Bureau Pune, Dec 14 Home Solutions Retail (India) Ltd, a part of the Kishore Biyani’s Future Group, today launched HomeTown store at the Ishanya Mall in Pune. Talking to presspersons, Mr. Mahesh Shah, CEO, HomeTown, said this was the fifth store in the country. The first one was opened in Noida in April. It is present in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. He said it will open stores in Gurgaon, Lucknow, Thane and Kolkata by June 2008. Mr Shah said 12 more stores are planned in cities including Ludhiana and Kochi in 2009. The company will open three more stores in Pune and five in Mumbai, Nasik and Nagpur. Mr. Mahesh said the Pune store and would provide consumer all that goes into building a house. According to Mr Shah, the company will invest Rs. 20 crore for each store. The stores will provide electrical works, plumbing, interior decoration and painting. It will also have counters by Future Money. He said the company’s revenue target is around Rs. 300 crore within the first year of operations. According to Mr Shah, the company has bagged Rs 300-crore order from the Bangalore-based Prestige Group of Builders for the supply of modular kitchen and bathrooms. It is in talks with builders in Pune for a similar agreement. The Pune store features a hostel segment where students can buy packages such as bed and mattress starting from Rs. 5,000. Mr. Mahesh said the store is divided into three sections —exhibitions, markets and services. The store displays model living room, dining room, bedroom, kid’s rooms, kitchen and bathroom in the exhibition segment. Mr. Mahesh said the company was planning to offer custom made furniture.
