UTV completes Indiagames buy

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Dec. 14 UTV Software Communications has completed its acquisition of 60 per cent stake in Indiagames, the online and mobile games company.

The company will be integrated with UTV businesses which are divided into four verticals — movies, television content, broadcasting, and interactive (animation and gaming).

The company had earlier also acquired a controlling stake in Ignition, a UK-based gaming company.

With Indiagames under it, UTV now has a presence across console and handheld games development and global publishing, global mobile games publishing, and a unique online PC games distribution model in India, the company said.

Synergies

“We have been working very closely and successfully with UTV on a number of initiatives over the last few months and look forward to maximising the benefits arising from the various synergies from our association,” said Mr Vishal Gondal, Founder and CEO, Indiagames, in statement.
