Chennai, Dec. 17

Flamingo Pharmaceuticals has launched its products in the Tamil Nadu market.

The company is present in anti-infectives, gastroenterological, orthocare, anti-allergics and nutritional products.

According to Mr K.K. Puri, Director, Flamingo Pharma, Tamil Nadu accounts for almost Rs 2,100 crore of the country’s pharma market.

“We have already launched our products in other parts of the country and we plan to create a pan-India presence by the end of this year,” said Mr Puri. It is also planning to launch products in the cardiovascular, diabetic and hospital care segments.

However, the company’s flagship business is export. Last year, the company posted a turnover of Rs 125 crore, all from the export business. The company launched its branded products in India early this year, and expects to garner a market share of one per cent, initially.
