BHEL unit to hire from Osmania University

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Dec. 17 Mr G.V. Rami Reddy, Executive Director, BHEL’s Ramachandrapuram unit, has said that BHEL was in the process of strengthening its human resource and it was keen on recruiting good engineering professionals from the Osmania University.

He was speaking at the fourth International Conference on Vibration Engineering and Technology of Machinery (Vetomac-IV) jointly organised by the University College of Engineering (UCE) and BHEL’s Corporate R&D Division, with the support of Vibration Institute of India.

Inaugurating the three-day conference, Prof Mohamed Suleman Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor of the university, said that vibration was a critical factor that had an impact on the performance of all operating machinery.

Interfaces

For the benefit of both business organisations and academic institutions, focussed industry-institution interfaces on such issues have been established by the university, he added.

Mr S.K. Goyal, Executive Director, BHEL-Corporate R&D, in his address referred to the various R&D activities carried out by BHEL in vibration analysis and machine dynamics.

He said that the area was of prime importance to BHEL since it was imperative to ensure that power generating equipment operate without any problems if the country has to meet the additional installed capacity demand of 78, 000 MW by the end of the 11th Five Year Plan period.

Prof J.S. Rao, President of Vibration Institute of India, spoke about the evolution of Vetomac and gave a brief account of the earlier three conferences.
