New Chennai’s SEZ notified

Chennai, Dec. 18

The multi-service special economic zone being set up by New Chennai Township Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marg Constructions Ltd, has been formally notified as a SEZ by the Centre, according to information provided by the company to the stock exchange. New Chennai Township is setting up the 300-acre SEZ at Seekinakuppam, Kanchipuram District. It was notified on November 23. The facility is coming up contiguous to the light engineering and auto ancillary SEZ, whic h the company is setting up on a 308-acre area. The light engineering SEZ was notified on September 28. According to information provided by the company, both the projects spread over 612 acres are being developed as integrated townships.
