Singur on fast track

A. Roy Chowdhury

Tata car project apace: Work on the Rs 1-lakh car project of Tata Motors at Singur, West Bengal, is in full swing. The plant is coming up in an area of 640 acres. Another 290 acres have been set aside for 55 vendors who will set up shop to support the facility. The progress of construction work at the plant underscores the company’s plans to roll out the model by 2008. —
