Opinion - Letters
Team-spirit

In the article “Adding value to work” (Business Line, December 18) the author has argued that in an organisation routine activities such as payroll administration, compliance with statutory regulations for effective implementation of labour laws can be outsourced by organisations since these are not the core jobs and also are non-value-adding.

I beg to differ on this view as, in any organisation, no work is insignificant or trivial in nature. In other words, no member of the staff is a small cog in a company. The success of a business organisation banks on the effective team-spirit of its employees which undoubtedly can be ensured if their names are on the rolls.

The feeling of ‘togetherness’, which is sine qua non for the success of any business organisation, has to be generated from within.
