Retailing Star Bazaar set up in Bangalore Bangalore, Dec. 20 Trent Ltd, the retail arm of the Tata Group, announced the launch of Star Bazaar, its hypermarket chain, in Bangalore on Thursday. Ms Neeti Chopra, Head-Marketing, Trent Ltd, said that expansion plans for Star Bazaar would currently be focussed on Western and Southern India. Trent Ltd operates three retail formats for the Tata Group — Westside, Landmark, and Star Bazaar. The company currently has 28 Westside stores, 3 Star Bazaar stores, and 10 Landmark stores. For 2 006-07, the company reported a total income of Rs 631.86 crore and a PAT of Rs 33.2 crore. “We expect to maintain the 30-35 per cent growth in our revenues this year too,” Ms Chopra said. Spread across 75,000 sq ft, Star Bazaar offers products across various categories ranging from apparel and fast moving consumer goods to food products, footwear, kitchen and home products. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Retailing
