Farm hands busy watering a potato farm near Singur in Hooghly district of West Bengal. Potato cultivation had suffered huge losses lastyear due to heavy rains and attack of the fungi. According to farmers, huge losses have compelled them to go slow with cultivation, whichis likely to affect production this year too.
