TN textile park to be operational by next year-end

Madurai, Dec. 23 A textile park in Vadipatti taluk, near here, cleared by the Union Government in its first batch of 25 parks across the country, is likely to become operational by December 2008.

Madurai Integrated Textile Park, the special purpose vehicle, promoted by Madurai Spinners Association is taking all steps for the purpose, according to Mr. C.S.Rajendran, Association President.

Speaking to Business Line here, he said that 106 acres have been acquired and a total investment of Rs 500 crore has been proposed. Apart from this, for infrastructure facilities at the park, a sum Rs 92 crore would be spent.
