Our Bureau Ahmedabad, Dec. 26 Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has paid Rs 45 lakh as interim relief to the villagers of Gamanpura in Mehsana district of Gujarat who have been affected recently due to water and air gushing from a few shallow tube wells in and around the village.The modalities for the interim relief had been worked out at a meeting with the villagers last week in the presence of district officials, ONGC said in a release here today. The interim relief has been paid to 311 families in the village. Mr A.K. Gupta, Executive Director-Asset Manager of Mehsana, monitored the relief measures. The company would also pay full compensation to all the affected villagers as soon as the committee, formed by the district administration, completes the assessment, Mr Pallab Bhattacharya, Deputy General Manager, said.
