No more cakewalk: A worker displaying a shrimp caught by him at a farm near Thrissur in Kerala. Frozen shrimp made up 54 per cent of the country’s seafood export earnings last year. A total of 475 seafood items were exported to 90 countries and shipments to all nations except the US increased. However, the going is not smooth anymore as Indian shrimp faces severe competition from Thailand, China and Indonesia. –
