Kochi, Dec. 27 Considering the increasing enquiry of curative ayurvedic treatment from abroad, the Kochi-based Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital Pvt Ltd has opened a referral unit in London.

The new unit in London was started as part of the continuing ayurveda awareness programme chalked out by the company for the promotion of ayurvedic treatment in the international arena, Dr A.M. Anwar, Chairman and Managing Director, said at a press meet here on Thursday.

Discussions are on to open more referral units in South Africa, Qatar, and UAE. The referral units will undertake only initial consultancy and further treatments would be conducted in the company’s facility in India, he said.

90-bed block

As part of the expansion plans, the hospital has constructed a new 90-bedded in patient block adjacent to the existing building. The State Co-operative Minister, Mr G. Sudhakaran, will inaugurate the new block on Saturday. The hospital has also bagged ISO 9001-2000 certification which is internationally acclaimed for ensuring quality in the service sector, he said.

The branded tourism package – Amazing South – which was introduced in the London World Travel Market is getting encouraging response, he said.
