In the aftermath of violence in Pakistan following Ms Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, two passenger trains that ply between India and Pakistan have been cancelled till further notice.

The trains that have been cancelled are Samjhauta Express and Munabao-Zero Point-Munabao Thar Express. Samjhauta Express starts from Jodhpur, while Thar Express starts from Munabao.

While these are the trains that ply between India and Pakistan, two other connecting trains on the Indian side have also been cancelled. They are the Delhi-Attari Link Express and Jodhpur-Munabao-Jodhpur Link Express.

Informing this in a press release, the Railway Ministry stated Pakistan Railways have been informed. The decision was taken following a meeting of the Railway Ministry with Home Ministry.

Meanwhile, for the goods train between India and Pakistan, the Government has not taken any official stand as there is no fixed schedule for these trains.
