Business Models Industry & Economy - Education Career Launcher setting up new B-school Bindu D. Menon New Delhi, Dec. 29 Career Launcher is fine-tuning its strategies to become a ‘start-to-finish’ education service provider. Armed with capital infusion and joint venture with like-minded partners, the company is consolidating its presence with a new B-school as also increasing its test-preparatory centres. Its maiden business school, The Indus World School of Business (IWSB), is being set up with an investment of Rs 70-80 crore. Selection procedureTo be housed in Greater Noida, the school will commence its operation from July next year. The first batch will have a student intake of 90 students who will be selected through CAT, XAT and GMAT scores. “IWSB will inspire entrepreneurial leadership apart from technical knowledge. It will provide global exposure to its students for international business and global programmes with world class career services,” the Career Launcher Chairman, Mr R. Satya Narayanan, told Business Line. The centre will also house a $one-million incubator laboratory for students with entrepreneurial drive, he said. Currently, Career Launcher caters to over 50,000 students annually by providing test-preparatory to aspirants for professional courses. The company is likely to cross Rs 100-crore turnover mark by 2007-08. On its secondary school foray, Mr Narayanan said the process was in full steam. “We plan to have at least 25 schools by 2010. These will most come up in Class B and C cities,” he said. On its joint venture with US-based Veritas, he said the tie up would help the company to take its footprints to Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan.
