Tea Buoyant trend in N. Indian tea auctions Our Bureau Kolkata, Dec 30 Last week, the CTC markets in North Indian tea auction centres were buoyant with prices appreciating, particularly for the dust categories, according to J Thomas & Company Private Ltd, the tea auctioneers. The major blenders and all domestic segments operated strongly with fair export inquiries for larger brokens. OrthodoxOrthodox teas were readily absorbed at fully firm to dearer rates with good support from CIS and the Middle-East buyers as well as the major blender. Darjeeling teas saw good demand from the local dealers with fair export inquiries. The major blenders were selective and the prices were barely steady. The season has come to a close for North India. In the international markets, no weekly auctions were held either at Colombo (Sri Lanka) or Mombasa (Kenya) due to Christmas holidays. More Stories on : Tea
