BHEL association’s initiative

The BHEL Small Industries’ Association, facilitated by the United Nation’s Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), has kick-started a major initiative to provide health and safety care to employees in Tiruchi Fabrication Cluster. The BHELSIA intends to improve upon its manufacturing practices by integrating social responsibility, with support from the BHEL and Suzlon Towers and Structures Pvt Ltd, President of BHELSIA, Mr K.G. Muralidharan said about the p roject that envisages implementation of an internal mechanism of forming monitoring teams and steering committee to determine adherence to safety norms and health practices. The monitoring team would report to the steering committee that is empowered to take corrective action. The mechanism also paves way for sharing of best practices. —
