Benz expands CV footprint

Pune, Dec. 31

Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles has expanded its footprint to cover eastern India, as Actros 4840K, heavy duty truck would be operational in the mines of Dhanbad and Asansol by early 2008. To offer service, spare parts and after-sales support at the mining sites, it has appointed Ms Rajni Motors to represent the company in that region. It has sold, since June 2006, 200 trucks. Since November, it has started local assembly of the Actros at its manufacturing facility in Pu ne. —
