Investment panel's term extended

New Delhi, Jan. 1

The Government has extended the term of the Investment Commission till December 31, 2009. The Investment Commission, chaired by Mr Ratan Tata, has Mr Ashok Ganguly and Mr Deepak Parekh as members. The three-member Investment Commission was set up by the Ministry of Finance in December 2004 for a threeyear period. It was set up to enhance and facilitate investment in India. The Commission makes recommendations to the Government of India on policies and procedures to facilitate investment, recommends projects and investment proposals that should be fasttracked and promotes India as an investment destination. - Our Bureau
