The second edition of Hyderabad International Film Festival (HIFF) will begin on Thursday with the screening of the Chinese film ‘The Teeth of Love’ at the open-air theatre, Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam.

Ms Yan Bingyan, who acted in the film, would be present at the screening, according to Mr Bh. S.S. Prakash Reddy, Festival Director.

The Veteran film-maker and Union Minister of State for Coal, Mr Dasari Narayana Rao, would preside over the inaugural ceremony.

Addressing a press conference, he had said about 220 films from 34 countries would be featured at this year’s festival. Of the 220 films, 69 would compete for short and documentary film awards.

For the delegates, the films would be screened at the Prasads IMAX multiplex and Amaravathi.

Organised by the Hyderabad Film Club and Telugu Film Directors’ Association, the festival would have sections 15 sections, including World Cinema, Indian Cinema, Country Focus (Hungary) and Retrospective of In Kwon –Taek (Korea) and L.V. Prasad.

The film buffs would have a sumptuous menu of foreign films, with a particular focus on countries such as France, Finland, Cuba, Russia and Turkey.
