Persistent, IBM set up centre of excellence

Our Bureau

Pune, Jan. 2 Outsourced software product developer Persistent Systems Ltd and IBM have come together to set up a Centre of Excellence for IBM rational products.

The facility was recently inaugurated by Mr Sriram Rajan, Vice-President, IBM Software Group, IBM India Pvt Ltd, and Dr Srikanth Sundararajan, COO, Persistent Systems.

It will help Persistent build a virtual community of developers, support teams and service personnel who specialise in supporting IBM products to share ideas, solutions and resources, a statement said.

Commenting upon the new initiative, Dr Sundararajan said: “It is a completely new way of organising our infrastructure. Our goal is to equip and benefit our employees to develop world-class products.” Mr Rajan observed that the centre is an example of how two companies can come together to help organisations maximise the returns on investments and improve performance.
