New Delhi, Jan. 3 Electrical equipment manufacturer Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd has announced the commissioning of a new switchgear plant, entailing a project cost of Rs 40 crore, in Uttrakhand.

The manufacturing unit would enable the company to nearly double its switchgear production capabilities, and is slated to produce switchgear products annually worth over Rs 200 crore when fully operational, a company statement said.

This switchgear plant is second of the three plants planned by Indo Asian at State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal (SIDCUL) site in Haridwar. Indo Asian had earlier set up its lighting equipment plant at SIDCUL last year.

Indo Asian is also setting up another plant for home automation and switches, in joint venture with Simon of Spain at SIDCUL, which is likely to be commissioned by the end of the current financial year, the statement said.

Mr V.P. Mahendru, Chairman and Managing Director, Indo Asian Fusegear said, “This new facility will improve our ability to develop and deliver world class electrical switchgear products, and will also equip us to keep pace with the growing demand for switchgears globally.”
