Human Resources States - Andhra Pradesh AP to recruit 6,237 village revenue officers Our Bureau Hyderabad, Jan. 4 In one of the largest recruitment initiatives, the State Government has cleared the appointment of 6,237 Village Revenue Officers (VRO). A decision to this effect was taken by the State Cabinet at its meeting held here on Friday. The district collectors have been instructed to take necessary steps to recruit the VROs, Mr Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Minister for Information, Government of Andhra Pradesh, told newspersons. As part of its plan to strengthen the revenue administration across the State, the Government estimated that 17,008 VROs would be needed. “Out of this, 10,771 posts are being filled with the village servants and fresh recruitment would be done to fill 6,237 posts,” he said. Other postsIn addition, the Cabinet had also approved the recruitment of 470 posts (including 426 engineers) in Andhra Pradesh Generation Corporation (APGenco), 149 and 24 posts in Nalgonda and Nizamabad universities, respectively, and 153 posts in the districts courts, the Minister said. The Cabinet also endorsed the report of Justice Ramakrishna Raju Commission on alleged irregularities in allocation of land and mining lease for Raghu Ram Cements.
