Education IIMB provides CSR teaching resources online Our Bureau Bangalore, Jan. 4 The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), has launched a Web site providing CSR (corporate social responsibility) teaching resources. The IIMB Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC) jointly organised a workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility: an Indo-UK project on ‘Curriculum Design, Teaching and Research’ with the British Council (India) and the International Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR), and Nottingham University on Thursday. Prof N. Balasubramanian, Chairman of CCGC, said that the workshop would focus on presenting a model CSR curriculum for business schools. Mr Chris Gibson, Director of British Council South Asia, said that many projects are being collaborated between academic institutions in India and UK on issues of environment, labour, corruption and human rights. The objective of this project was to prepare a model curriculum for teaching CSR and develop a dedicated Web site for the same, he said. Mr Keki Mistry, Managing Director of HDFC Bank, talked about how corporate governance and CSR go hand-in-hand. He mentioned that India has consistently ranked among the top three Asian countries along with Singapore and Hong Kong on corporate governance parameters.
