Ennore Foundries proposes to change name

T. Murrali

Chennai, Jan. 5 Chennai-based Ennore Foundries Ltd (EFL), part of the Hinduja Group, has proposed to change its name as Hinduja Foundries Ltd.

The Managing Director of Ennore Foundries Ltd, Mr V. Mahadevan, told Business Line, “The present name of the company is not reflective of its size and stature due to its presence in multiple locations.” Incorporated in 1959 by British Leyland, EFL confined its operations to Ennore till the beginning of 2005. Since then it has expanded operations and now has manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and at Sriperumbudur near Chennai, he said.

The name change would help the company align itself with the change it has witnessed during the last couple of years, he said. “The EGM has passed a resolution today towards name change and we are proceeding further to take suitable action,” he added.

Moreover, with increased capacity, the company would be looking at exports business in a big way, he said. Therefore, it was preferable for the company to get affiliated to a group, he said. As the Hinduja Group was a large, trans-national business conglomerate with diversified operations, it would give lot of advantages for EFL in terms of branding, he pointed out.
