Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Jan. 8

Hyderabadis can now look forward to some interesting mode of travel as Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMR) has set norms, such as automatic train operation with centrally controlled doors, lower-levels of noise and special protection devices such as sari guards at the elevators, for the developers.

The documentation work for technology, safety standards and financials for the HMR had been finalised at a high-level meeting involving officials from the Planning Commission, Ministry of Urban Development, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (prime consultants), Sapan-Semaly (owner’s consultants) and HMR here on Tuesday. “From the evaluation reports, the HMR Board found the technical bids of all five pre-qualified consortia to be in order and declared all of them eligible to participate in the financial bids,” Mr N.V.S. Reddy, Managing Director, HMR Ltd, told newspersons.
