Software Oracle top database vendor in India, Asia Pacific Our Bureau Coimbatore, Jan. 8 IDC’s ‘Asia/Pacific Semi-Annual Software Tracker, September 2007’ report has spotted Oracle as the leading Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) vendor in India and Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) during the first half of 2007. The findings point to Oracle as the market leader with 53 per cent share in the Asia Pacific region, growing 19 per cent year-on-year to reach $373 million in software revenue in the first half of 2007. The company commands more than double the market share of its nearest competitor in the RDBMS space. (In India, Oracle leads the RDBMS market share with 63 per cent, which is almost three times its nearest rival). The company has, through sustained flow of innovation, developed and strengthened its RDBMS market share in the Asia Pacific, says Mr S.P.S. Grover, Vice-President - Technology Sales, Oracle India.
