127 stocks move to T-group

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Jan. 8 Inclusions of certain stocks into T and TS group have had an impact on the BSE small- and mid-cap indices today. Better performance of the small-cap stocks compared with large cap stocks in the last calendar year has led to talks of speculative activity in the T and TS groups. So the SEBI wants to allow the small retail investors to cover up their positions in these stocks. It is just a precautionary measure to curb unwanted speculation in these stocks, according to a senior research analyst with a brokerage.

Affecting Liquidity

Among the 127 stocks that have been included in the T Group are Centrum Capital, Dolat Investments, Garnet International, Livingroom Lifestyle etc while EPIC Enzymes & Industrial, Hit Kit Global Solutions, Titan Bio-Tech are some of the stocks to be included in the TS Group.

“This move will definitely affect the liquidity of these stocks as it will become more delivery based buying and now the volumes will also get affected,” said Ms Shahina Mukadam, Head of Research, IDBI Capital Market Services Ltd.
