British Bio ties up with Finnish co

Bangalore, Jan. 8

British Biologicals, the Bangalore-based nutraceuticals company, has said it has entered into a marketing tie-up with Finland's Raisio Group to launch its cholesterol reducing product. The Rs 100-crore British Biologicals has the exclusive marketing right for the drink in India. It will also be the product's entry into the Asian market, according to company Managing Director, Mr V.S. Reddy.

British Biologicals, maker of B- and DProtein, manufactures disease-specific supplements covering diabetes, asthma, women's health, cardiovascular problems and hepatitis. The company holds 22 per cent market share in the Rs 500-crore prescription-based nutraceuticals segment, said Mr V. Sridhar, Executive Director. The company is also finalising similar tie-ups in Europe and Russia. Its products - mainly protein supplements such as BProtein and D-Protein - are present in 20 countries.
