New Products & Services Industry & Economy - Two/Three Wheelers Honda Aviator targets males
Mr Masahiro Takedagawa, Operating Officer Southwest Asia, Honda Motor Co, at the launch of `Aviator' premium Scooter at the 9th Auto Expo in the Capital on Wednesday. - Kamal Narang Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled a new scooter christened Aviator that is targeted at male buyers. The new scooter will be launched by the first week of March, and is expected to be priced at about Rs 39,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Aviator will be launched in two variants - standard and deluxe - with new features such as 12-inch alloy wheels and front disc brakes. The other standard features that Honda's current scooters have are being carried forward for the new scooter and they include the 102cc engine, variomatic transmission, tuff-up tube/tyre and metal-bodied panels. HMSI, the wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan, has its manufacturing facility in Manesar. The Aviator will be targeted at the premium segment scooter buyer, while the company's existing Activa and Dio scooters cater to conservative and female scooter buyers. The Aviator features a more aggressive design profile and Honda has used high impact resistant ABS plastic panels for areas of the scooter that have a higher probability of damage from crashes and to reduce the overall weight of the two-wheeler. The Aviator will be launched with a two-year or 24,000 km warranty. - Our Bureau More Stories on : New Products & Services | Two/Three Wheelers
