BA offers Delhi-London fare at Rs 26,000

New Delhi, Jan. 10

British Airways on Thursday re-launched its low price offer for passengers flying to the UK, Europe and the US. In a statement, the airline has said ticket prices for those travelling to the UK and Europe start at Rs 26,000 (excluding taxes), while those travelling to the US can buy a ticket for Rs 36,000 (excluding taxes).

Travel at these rates has to be completed within one year from the date the ticket is purchased.

In addition, a passenger can upgrade to World Traveller Plus cabin when travelling to London by paying Rs 10,000 more. However, the ticket must be purchased before the end of February and travel must start by end of March this year.

The BA offer, however, is being viewed as matching the fares which are currently available for non-stop flights between India and the UK.

The Executive Director, Cox & Kings, Mr Arup Sen, felt that with competition on the India-UK sector being intense all carriers try to be as competitive as possible. “These fares are good for direct connections to the UK. However, Middle East carriers do offer cheaper fares. For the US sector, it is more or less in line with other carriers. But it should be noted that these fares are applicable to those who plan their bookings in advance,” Mr Sen said.
