Public Sector Banks Logistics - Railways States - Tamil Nadu Canara Bank opens e-ticketing at Madurai, Kanyakumari stations Our Correspondent Madurai, Jan. 10 Canara Bank has launched e-ticketing service at Madurai and Kanyakumari railway stations in Madurai Division. The initiative called ‘Insta Ticket’ is part of a memorandum of understanding signed between Canara Bank and the Indian Railway Tourism and Catering Corporation (IRCTC) to establish automated teller machines (ATMs) at 225 railway stations across the country. The facility enables a passenger to purchase e-ticket using ATM-cum-debit card. The utility would attract applicable charges for e-ticket and a levy of nominal service charge. Only confirmed or reservation against cancellation (RAC) tickets would be facilitated under the system. While travelling, along with the electronic reservation slip the passengers need to show their photo identity cards that are used to book the tickets. According to sources, ATMs are to be established at 13 railway stations in Madurai Division. More Stories on : Public Sector Banks | E-Commerce & E-Business | Railways | Tamil Nadu
