7Seas Tech acquires Neodelight

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Jan. 10 Gaming developer 7Seas Technologies has announced the acquisition of Berlin-based Neodelight, the gaming division of NeoKolor GBR.

This acquisition is an all cash deal and the companies refrained from disclosing the value under non-disclosure agreement. With this move, 7Seas will get rights for about 33 games developed by Neodelight and its IP rights and also technology that helps create online games, according to the company Managing Director, Mr L. Maruti Sanker.

Addressing a news conference along with Mr Ulrich Tausend, Managing Partner, Neodelight, Mr Sanker said that this opens up presence in over 500 gaming sites with dedicated game lovers and also enhances the development capability through technology and tools. On Neodelight part, Mr Tausend said “their core competency lies in research and development. With 33 games developed by the company now calling for focus to take them to next phase of growth, we preferred to exit from them to focus on the core competency that is research and development.”

Interestingly, Neodelight games are programmed in Adobe Flash technology which means they can be directly embedded in Web sites and do not require to be downloaded to play them. They particularly target people who are not very tech savvy, Mr Tausend said.
